Any plans to provide a 500g bag? A kilo is just too much for home use.
I got the triple certified espresso. Its nice, but was wondering which Masters Coffee is the steongest?
How recently are these beans roasted and do they have the roasting date on the packaging
Are these medium or light roast? Usually the beans you get online are super dark 😔

Get free P&P from stockist!

I notice that if you go to the stockist then you can order this coffee without paying P&P - something worth noting if you don't get free P&P from Amazon. (Why give money to Amazon when they don't pay tax (or not enough, anyway)!) As to the product, don't be fooled by the fact that it has won awards in the past: coffee is like wine - you get good years and bad years. I have bought this product over a number of years and I think it has tended to get blander. However, it is still a decent coffee at a decent price and it's a good deal if you want organic and freetrade.

lacked complexity & was a bit bitter

Roast date mid December. Ordered early January when Amazon said only 5 left in stock. Arrived on the 7th. Can't complain about a 3 week turnaround from roasting. Obviously the use by recommendation date is much longer.I didn't start drinking coffee till last year, so can't claim to be an expert. Never tried the likes of Costa or Starbucks. Started with Mochas at local Coffee Cafés, progressing quickly to Espresso. After trying pre-ground Organic Saula in a French press (smooth, with various depths of flavour), I started reading up more on coffee. Consensus was that you loose a lot of the flavour compounds with pre-ground coffee & that grinding your own was a totally different experience - especially if using a burr grinder. My wife keeps a foil bag of the Lavazza Qualita Oro pre-ground in the fridge. They rate as 5/10 strength, with 100% Arabica. I thought I would try something different & went for:Coffee Masters Triple Certified, Organic, Fairtrade, Arabica Coffee Beans 1kg - Great Taste Award Winner 2018 (graded 3/5 strength)I bought a small manual grinder to go with it. There are loads of these on Amazon, but sure they are all made in the same place, with different labelling to make one seem better than another. Gives you a workout, but the downside is it takes 5 minutes to grind enough for 2! Hence my Christmas present was a De'Longhi KG79 Professional Burr Grinder. Neat & works well. The Triple Certified was smooth, with various depths of flavour & after getting used to it, my wife really liked it as a comparison to shop bought coffee.Once that was running low, I ordered the Coffee Masters Colombian for a change. Graded 2/5 strength. Not one either of us has enjoyed. Tends to lack complexity or smoothness & be bitter even at 90 degrees C. I will get more of the Triple Certified for home & pre-grind batches of the Columbian for at work, till that is used up.Observations when eating beans whole:Columbian was darker, more hard/brittle to bite, drier & more bitter. Despite being 10 weeks older, the Triple Certified had been kept in airtight jars, so should not have absorbed much moisture in comparison.Latest brew technique:1. Boil fresh tap water to 90 degrees C. I live in Scotland so it is always soft, only lightly chlorinated & VERY plentiful! Never had to buy bottled water.2. Pre-heat the French press.3. Grind enough beans on a course setting.4. Empty the warming water from the press5. Pour the coffee grounds in. I use a small brush to ensure all the content from the grounds container are in the press, as the plastic sides statically hold a lot stuck on. I also get the extra from the grinder outlet to stop that going stale.6. Just cover with water, stir & leave for 1 minute.7. add the rest of the water & stir.8. Leave for ~2:309. Press & pour straight away. Don't leave any liquid in the press, or it will go bitter. As pre-ground is normally finely ground, you will get much more residue in the mug using a French press than you would with coffee you have course ground yourself.Coffee Masters, it would be great if you would sell 5x 200g varieties of beans, to give us the chance to test them all, before buying 1kg bulk of anything we like. Yes it would be more difficult to stock as fresh & be less environmental, but it is the kind of thing I would only be likely to do once.

Great Company with Great Coffee, roasted on date within 2-4 weeks of receiving! Fab!

Great coffee, lovely aroma and one of the nicest tasting coffees I've tasted for a long time! I initially had an issue with Amazon shipping me a damaged bag with a hole in the top and unsure of the whole amount was even there. I contacted Amazon and was issued a refund for the first bag.I have also spoken with Coffee Masters personally about their coffee selection and the members of staff I've had contact with seem to really care about their products and their customers. They have a great website with some good information and a deeper look into the company themselves which in my opinion you don't see enough of these days.I haven't had a chance to work my way through their entire selection yet but if the rest of their coffee is anything like these beans I've finally found a company that spoils me for choice of great beans! The beans I've had have been evenly roasted and all in great condition (other than a package arriving damaged due to amazon using an envolope instead of the usual box. They accepted full responsibility for this issue)The beans smell great for a Columbian single origin and taste even better! All of the beans I've had from this company have had a roasting date within 2-4 weeks of purchase which is great in my opinion considering it's rare a company even lists this!I would highly recommend. Definitely found a returning customer in me!Well done Coffee Masters!
