This purchase was a gift because we love the one we already have. We call it our "geriatric step ladder". The safety of this is wonderful.

The Little Giant is great for short stays. Staying too long is better for a scaffolding.

This is a review by Oscar Jaeger, Lois's husband. This Little Giant 4-step ladder is a step up, literally and figuratively, from the Little Giant 3-step ladder that I had been using for many years. I gave away the 3-step and now use only the 4-step. It is lighter and enables me to securely reach higher up in our apartment.

Solid on the ground. Sturdy to stand on. Excellent workmanship. Handrail folds and sets up with ease. American made!Suggestion: #1: I use it outdoors and the grooved steps collect water that would drain away with a few drainage holes in the bottom of the grooves. It's a problem when folding it up to relocate it after a rain, and my pants leg gets soaked.Suggestion: #2: When I slide it along the ground to reposition the ladder it doesn't have a "Fold Open Lock" and closes up with a pinch hazard, and I need two hands to reopen it fully to full open position to start up the steps.I really like it.

really stable - so much nicer to stand on and reach - but the support arm needs to be able to go one click less than strait up as it hinders being able to stand on the top step and reach across it. If it was one click towards the back it would enable fully standing on the top and not feeling constrained from a full reach while having the added stability feeling of having the locked bar as well as a few places for screws and drill bits etc. It does take a fair amount of space when deploying but its worth it with the far more safe and stable feel to getting on a ladder.

Nice to have around the house.

The ladder to get for safety reasons especially for older folks who has problems standing on narrow step ladders. Perfect for around the house use.
