Fantastic printer. Easy to set up. It clearly says there is no wifi or printer lead included. Its just a basic printer. It excels at that. I think the negative reviews are because some people find it hard to read or understand the specs. All-in-all - a good cheap printer. BONUS: It has full cartridges and not the starters.. Only dumb thing: it takes a good 10 minutes to unwrap it, take out all the reams of cardboard. After that, its a dream and so easy.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed to discover upon setting this printer up that it does not come with the connection cable needed to plug it into your computer! And as it does not support a wireless connection, it is absolutely USELESS until I can find and purchase the right cable needed to make it work.I am frankly astounded that a product can be sold without the VITAL part to make it actually function. I am actually in awe of this as I expected far more from a company like Canon. It is possible that it works just fine and is deserving of more stars, but as there is no way for it to function the way it was delivered to me this product deserves ZERO STARS in my opinion. Yet another disappointing Amazon purchase. I am just about done buying anything from here anymore as there is always something off!Irony is, I cant even return it without printing a label so still need to go buy a connection cable somewhere else if I even want to attempt returning it. HOW WAS THIS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?!(also, I never ever write amazon reviews, even when I don't like a product, so the fact that I felt the need to come and warn other future buyers is a strong statement coming from me.)NEW EDIT: Printer also does not support dual-sided printing (even though it says in the product info that it can) and I will not give me the option to choose black-and-white over color when printing a document with color photos.

I was warned before buying this printer that I would need a USB cable to connect the printer with my computer, and that I would need a disk drive for the drivers. No problem, I had those. Unfortunately, I could not install the drivers using the disk provided. For some reason, the process kept failing, telling me that the computer was not connected to the printer, even though it was, and there was nothing wrong with my USB cable (it worked just fine with the scanner I was replacing). I spent hours over it, in tears. I could not get the driver to install.Well, I tried again today. First, I uninstalled everything. Then I found the appropriate drivers online, downloaded them, and installed them. Everything worked perfectly this time, got it up and running. It's a nice little printer for the price. But if you buy, do yourself a favour and download the drivers, do not use the disk, I reckon there was something wrong with it.Edit: I’ve been using this for a few days, and I have to say, I am very glad I managed to install this printer as I am very happy with it. The quality of the scanning is way better than the scanner I was replacing. My old scanner couldn’t cope with scanning from a book, there’d be odd little shadows all over the scan. Even a book with spiral binding where the pages laid mostly flat on the scanning surface. The scans produced by this printer are beautifully clean in comparison. The printing is very nice too. Not as nice as a laser printer, but still very clean and clear.So I suppose I do recommend this product. But do not attempt to install the drivers using the disk provided. I can’t emphasise that enough.

Order this printer great little printer but have to connect to WiFi to use as I didn’t read it properly 🤣 I wanted one I could print strait from my phone

Was initially pleased with the price ect of this canon printer. I have had canon printers before and they have always been great for printing papers or photos. The printer comes with a disc that helps to load the driver to your computer or laptop. Since many laptops don’t come with DVDR slots, and you can get the driver data via download, this seems superfluous. However there was a problem that could have been avoided.Unfortunately the printer didn’t come with a cable to attach the printer to the laptop. I could understand this if the printer was Bluetooth enabled but it isn’t. You need the cable for it to work! Why buy a printer that won’t work without a specific cable. I have had to purchase the additional cable to make this printer work.Surely Canon could have removed the unnecessary disc and replaced it with the cable which is necessary. Money pinching tactics that are ridiculous.I purchased this for my daughter for university. University is expensive. There is a cost of living crisis and Canon have made a printer that is useless without a cable that wasn’t supplied with the machine. Very disappointing

Somehow, one of my cats managed to dropkick my previous printer off the shelf onto the floor and a quick replacement was essential. This printer is just the biz - you'll need to get a cable to connect the printer to your computer but if you're replacing a printer just keep the one you used before. If not, they're just a few quid.Easy to set up - the diagrammatic how-to is 90% intuitive but I prefer words! The manual is online. Printing is fairly fast and not too loud. You'll need to buy new ink cartridges fairly soon as the ones provided won't last long if you print lots, but replacements are cheaper than the ones I used before. Win.Have discovered Return A Toner who recycle all IT equipment plus cartridges and NOTHING goes to landfill, so my old printer and some other IT stuff that died and is lying in state in a cupboard can have a dignified end. Printer is now kept on a shelf with enough headroom for the paper, so Harris can hone his footie skillz elsewhere.
