Helped with Flower Thrips
My balcony vegetable and herb garden got horribly infested with flower thrips. Applied this and after one week there were hundreds of dead thrips around the planters. I still saw some thrips on the plants so I think it took a little time to break their lifecycle but I’m now 3 weeks in and hardly see any.I did have some plants react poorly after application in the form of droopiness and yellowing leaves, but I would use it again as a treatment/preventative.The product is not safe for pollinators so I wouldn’t put it on anything that flowers. I ended up removing all my flowering plants before applying this.

Took care of my severe white fly issue…
Every year I have white flies. Everywhere. Indoors where I start my seedlings, outdoors where I planted seeds into the soil… it was beyond terrible last year. I almost couldn’t pick my beans and tomatoes due to the swarms. They were on my melons, my herbs, my lettuces, even my hibiscus was affected by the whiteflies. I used my camera’s zoom video and dug through seedling’s soil to see squirming larvae. I tried everything. Nothing worked. Neem oil was useless, as was soap and water, and finally pyrethrin and malathion…I read this BioAdvanced Fruit, Citrus & Vegetable Insect Control, Concentrate could be used as a preventative – it’s poured into the ground. It is systemic, and I love to stay organic, but living in Tennessee, you sometimes can’t go the organic route. So, I tried it this year. I used it on most every seedling except my lettuces and bock choy because I simply forgot them… no whiteflies except, you guessed it, my lettuces and bok choy. It was amazing. I actually let my tomatoes go quite a bit this year, inviting white fly infestation… never happened!Systemic or no, it saves my vegetables and fruits from the white flies! You do have to use this as a preventative. Once you have white flies, it’s pretty much too late. Harvest best you can.

For the lazy/busy gardener
I have previously used really strong solutions of imidacloprid for my front yard bushes to take care of beetles and other pests. It was really easy to use since this is a systematic pesticide. That is, you just mix with water and pour it on the roots. The plants takes in the imidacloprid and stores it in its tissue so that you only need to apply the pesticide once a year and no further treatment is needed. However, the concentration of imidacloprid for my frontyard treatment is far too strong to be used on the edible crops and plants that I grow in my backyard. That is where this pesticide comes in. It only contains 0.235% Imidacloprid making it suitable for edible crops. Like the stronger concentration pesticides, it is systematic, so you only apply it once a year. The low concentration means that the fruits are safe to eat, and since I am only spraying once a year, you end up saving a lot more compared to other pesticides that require a spray every week or two. Since the chemical only affects insects that feed on the plants (usually harmful pests), this is safe for most pollinators like bees.I have actually had this product in mind for the last year. Amazon was offering this product at $13.54 after the coupon discount (The normal MSRP is $26.99), so there was no reason not to buy it.This pesticide is designed for fruits and vegetables. But there are a few things to note. The Pre-harvest Interval, that is, the time needed after each application before you can harvest the crops vary from plant to plant. So you have to check the label prior to use. While it can be used on the listed vegetables, in many cases, the Pre-harvest Interval is 21 days. So you cannot harvest the vegetables for 21 days after application. This might be problematic when it comes to short harvest crops. E.g. Some vegetables may only take 3 or 4 weeks from seed to harvest, so that rules out the use of this pesticide. The pesticide is applying by mixing in water and then pouring it around the roots, so there is no need to spray anything on the plants. It's mostly practical for fruits and less useful for leafy vegetables. If you are a busy gardener and have no time to spray your fruit trees every other week, I would highly recommend this product.

Easy to Apply
Weekly updates coming!Pros:Active ingredient Imidalcloprid has a very safe profile for humans and mammals. Source: http://npic.orst.edu/factsheets/imidagen.htmlSafe for pets; used in some flea meds.Works similar to nicotine; affects insects nervous system.Gets asorbed into the plant and lasts for an entire season.Protects existing growth and new growth.Cons:Toxic to bees. If you like bees as pollinators, avoid Imidalcloprid for insect control or go with a much lower dose.Jan 4No measuring cup as shown in product picture. Photo shows how it arrived on Jan 4. Other reviews have had the same issue. Bottle wasnt wrapped in shrink wrap so the cup may have fallen off at the warehouse or maybe they dont provide it anymore.Product is for a container with a Dragon's Breath super hot pepper plant that was brought in for the winter. It developed an aphid infestation and it's a bad one. Dish soap + water wasn't getting the job done so I'm trying out the Bioadvance systemic insecticide for vegetables.Added 5.5ml of product to 200ml of water to treat the 24" round containers (the math was fun). Delivery is by an automatic watering system, ~100ml per hour. Plants haven't been watered in a week to ensure dirt will absorb and hold on to the treated water for the plant. My Math:2' diameter container = 3.1sq ftDosage is 0.5oz for treating 10sq ft in 1qt of water.Container needs 0.185oz = 5.47mL for treating 3.1sq ft in 0.155qt (146mL) of water.I'm using 5.5mL in 200ml of water.Soil is (intentionally) dry so it won't produce run off water. Will water again in 5 days and then get back to regular watering cycle.
