be careful about returns, know the difference between USB C 2.0, USB C 3.0 and USB C TB
USB C is just a form factor, the data protocol runs on top of that form factor can be USB 2.x/3.x/TB.for that reason, most of the cheaper cable won't work. and that seems to be the number 1 user error for a lot of the low star ratings. i bought the amazon refurb one for good price because the previously owner obviously had no idea about it and maybe just used whatever charging cable they had at the time, and the cable that they returned with the unit is a basic usb c usb 2.0 cable. but i am not complaining because the the price of the used unit was much lower than the new unit, even if you have to buy a usb c TB cable.so my advice is to buy used, and also have a USB C TB cable available
