Great chisels good price
A friend at work was always going on about his Marples chisels and let me use them to install hinges on a fire door, usually I use a set of chisels I got from wickes and my palm router but I'd forgotten them that day. Using the Marples I had three hinges on in the time I would normally take to do one, I was impressed. The grips were comfortable and they were much more solid than my Wickes set. They stayed sharper longer as well. So I decided to get my own, and was surprised they were only £5 more expensive than the old Wickes ones!

These do the job...
These are very good, I wouldn't say excellent, but decent enough for shaping and chiselling out door frame hinges and hatch locks. Not tried to sharpen them yet, although very sharp to start with. If you doing home DIY or small craft work, I would recommend these and would say value for money.

Needed a Sharpen to bring them up to Standard...
...but once there, these have proved to be spot on. The hardened steel and the balance of this set of chisels has reminded me that I should never go for cheapo tools if I want to get the end results I wish for. I also have a tenon saw from the same company which I have to say, is the best I have ever used, by far.Apart from the need to sharpen these chisels (more down to me wanting the best edge possible on my chisels) these are perfect and I have no hesitation in giving them the full 5 stars.

Irwin - a quality brand @ a discounted price what can go wrong? Chisels are sharp & oiled out the bag & have a nice carry case to go with.
