i like the ability to change the temp, and the like is light, but the opening, did not fit the light stands, the opening, was too small, which i will think of something, to widen the opening, to g=fit, but i like it, since this is my 2nd one, but did not have anything problems with he first one, to fit

they are powerful and versatile, one of my lights is dead now (I bought 2) I was using them daily, maybe they are not ment to use it for 14 hours - day but it worked well until death

First off, I have an Amaran 200x (I think it's the x, it is bicolor LED) which I have been using as stage lighting. That's about a 300 watt LED light but I really need something with less spill than a photographic light with a short beauty ring. I am using it at about 50% brightness.So I looked for the cheapest bicolor LED and a Fresnel lens modifier to make it more of a wide spot with a cheap set of barn doors to shape it a bit. I went with a CLAR lenticular type Fresnel because that lenticular lens avoids the color issues that can happen with traditional Fresnel lenses and bicolor LEDs. The barn doors are a cheap set I got for $16 but I like them and they are going to give me a place to run a safety cable that will support the fresnel.All in all, it works and with the Fresnel adjusted as wide as possible, I get a slightly narrower spot than I would like. The brightness at 100% isn't as much as 50% with the Amaran but it's close and I have some RGBW pars to make up the difference.Now for the flaw: the Bowen mount doesn't latch properly.There is a plastic button that moves a little tiny plastic pin which is the lock for the Bowen mount. First it's far too small to handle the weight of my 6" Fresnel lens or a heavier soft box. Second, it doesn't stick out enough to latch on the lugs even with something light like a beauty ring.I'm going to semi-permanently hang my light from a lighting pipe in the ceiling so my solution is to run a safety cable through the barn doors so that if the Fresnel works its way out of the Bowen mount it won't fall on the audience. I'll throw on some gaff tape to hold the fresnel in the Bowen mount too.In the end it should work, it has a remote control so anyone with the remote can turn it on instead of always me with Sidus Link on my phone to adjust the Amaran light. Not bad for about $160 total (lamp $60.75, Fresnel $72, Barn Doors $16, truss clamp $4, spigot mount piece $2, 3/8-16 bolt $0.50 and safety cable about $5).Hopefully it will be a reliable light running it at 100% for 3-4 hours at a time.

Bought this light for in studio work for my podcast/youtube channel. Light is great, but it is not silent at all, even purchased a second because I thought I could navigate around it, bad mistake. I’d recommend this light for shooting in areas where the fan noise is minimal , or to any one on a budget. I’d recommend going with the godox 60IID, which has noise itself but not as loud as this one here, or a Neewer.
