You'll need an SD card to go with it. Just drag the files from your computer onto the SD card then put it in your SNES. Works right away. So easy!

Im not super technical guy when it comes to modern technology. So there was quite the learning curve involved. After six months of trying different cards and cussing and wanting to chuck this thing acrossnthe room i finally figured out everything has to be unzipped and placed in the folders. All your games have to go in one specific file. And yes this will play super fx chip games such as super metroid, clay fighters &, lost vikings 1&2,

I ordered this original one, instead of buying the asian clone for half the price. It came with the original box and ran all the games that I tried without an issue. I'm more than happy.

My experience with this cartridge has been incredibly positive after I spent 3 to 4 hours of digging through videos on Youtube.Be aware these cartridges come with NO SETUP GUIDE and they have similar names for different consoles(just google "Everdrive X" and you will see what I mean). this is the only reason I gave the item a 4 out of 5, it made finding instructions incredibly difficult.Amazon will suggest you get a 64 GB SD card with this cartridge, but I disagree with that because you will need to create a partition to format it into FAT32, which is what this cartridge reads files in.I got my cartridge to work the best after:-using a 16GB SDcard formatted to FAT32-going to their website and downloading the newest update for the SNES Everdrive x5-extract the zipped downloaded file to the root of your SDcard-now load your game files into the root of the SDcardPut the SDcard into the cartridge and now you should be able to play the games properly.This is an incredibly simple guide to start playing games from the cartridge, you can find much more detailed instructions on Youtube to get cheats and other options to work.

Works exactly as advertised. Easy to set up, easy to use, and does everything I need it to. Sure, it would be cool if it supported enhancement chips, but I can very comfortably get by with this. Plus, it allows me to run a decent number of romhacks on real hardware.

The only flaw with this flash cart is that it can't play the DSP-1 stuff or the other Super FX stuff. You are only going to play the rest of the stuff. And the games that this doesn't work for are not games that are going to make you regret purchasing the X5. Games like Mahjong and a few racing games isn't going to make you regret it. I highly recommend it. The interface could have been better but it's definitely easy to use so that's a plus. Get it over the X6 and just emulate the leftover games or buy the carts. Look on Stone Age Gamer to see the compatibility list. Also it can fit in a regular SNES if you snap the flaps that prevents the cart going in, with a pair of pliers.

I tried every micro cd card I have and it won’t read it. Please proceed with caution when purchasing this item!
