327 OBD Diagnostic Code Scanner,ELMConfig Modified OBD Reader

This FORScan works awesome with FORScan software and my laptop hooked up to my Ford. It saved me a ton of money so far! Although the switch was in the opposite position, elm327 can only go in two directions, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if it's not working, you just switch it the other way (and label it so you know which way is what, for next time). Its amazing what you can find out about your OBDII Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, and I think some Mazda vehicles - but you'd have to check with the software for compatible years. One of the things I needed to do was to program a 2nd key for my Explorer Sport Trac, since I only had 1. I bought a blank, uncut, transponder key off Ebay, had it cut, plugged in the cable between my truck and laptop, started the software (available online, separately, and free), accessed my vehicles PATS system, and followed the instructions to program the key. This FORScan ELM327 USB works perfectly. Dealer tells you it's a couple hundred bucks for them to program a SECOND key if you only have one (you can easily program a third and fourth key from inside the vehicle IF you have TWO programmed keys). The elm cable is well made and was just long enough to reach outside of my vehicle to my laptop on my hood. Helped diagnose a faulty 4x4 component that the handheld scanners didn't pick up. Am I satisfied with this FORScan ELM? my answer is yes,100% satisfied with it! Recommend this elm to all of you

Worked out of the box.

I bought this a while ago but have not needed to use it till now. I plugged it in but two pieces of software said there was no connection. I should have at least tried it while in the return window.I will have to buy another, but not this make.

Purchased from OTKEFDI through amazon fullfilment.I used this to add a factory trailer brake controller to my 2019 F150 XLT. Although the truck has a towing package a brake controller was not on the option list. I used Ford part JL3Z-2C006-AA (approx. $100). After a simple install of the hardware I had to get the truck programmed for the brake controller to work - option 1 take it to dealer for programming, cost would of been $50. Option 2 use FORScan (google it) and purchase this adapter.The adapter worked flawlessly after using the included disc to install the proper drivers. FORScan was able to quickly see the adapter and communicate to my vehicle. I backed up all the modules FORScan found and then found the IPC module and made the necessary changes and had the brake controller working in a few minutes.I was able to save over $200 by installing and programming myself vs the local dealer. This is a $295 option if included on a new truck like mine.Awesome product at a very fair price.

Perfect. Added a factory trailer brake controller to my 2019 F150 xlt sport and used this to enable the functions to allow the controller to work. Took 5 minutes. Worth every cent!!

It works with Forscan, but would not connect to my F150

Original design elm327 adapter, updated to support MS-CAN protocol. Included software is reasonably helpful, includes drivers for most versions of Windows. Will also work with recent versions of Android that support USB OTG. Can't speak to iOS products as I don't own any.

The CD is useless as newer computers don't have drives an the only CD drive I do have doesn't accept the mini format. FYI if you are using this for forscan with a mac I was only able to get it to work with the crossover app. I think to get it to work with VMWare Fusion a Mac Driver is needed to properly detect it to allow the VM to connect. Something I will have to dig around for.
