If you are a Roughman 4 refugee like me (damn near impossible to find it anymore for some reason), I would definitely recommend this. The hold is very similar, it smells exactly the same and hair feels the same after use.

Disappointed with the product. I was expecting something similar to Goldwell Stylesign Creative Texture Roughman (which is unfortunately not available in the US via Amazon). This product unfortunately does not hold properly and gives a greasy look.

It seems that they are going to discontinue the old version slowly. The old one has a better hold for my type of hair (thicker hair).

My hair-dresser used this on my hair and recommended it. It’s the best texturing product I’ve ever used. I have thin, curly hair and it tames the frizz and holds all day. Doesn’t look greasy and it’s not sticky. It keeps my hair looking fresh and natural.

I am not sure why they changed the formula for this particular product, but it led to a reduction in its quality. It still works, but it doesn't hold as well as the old Matte version. The updated version is also greasier, as others have said. I don't think I will be purchasing another of these after trying out the new version, which is a shame because I loved the older one.

Do not go off of the picture about what size product you’re getting. The picture shows 3.3oz (100ml) but you only get a small 1.6oz (50ml).

This newer one doesn't hold as well and my hair feels greasy after using this.
