My new bible
Although I am not converted yet to the No Dig approach, I do admire Charles Dowding for his compost making process so I knew I was in for a treat. It didn't disappoint!Very easy read, plenty of practical examples and bits of research to support them.Be aware that a good chunk is, I feel, about trying to convince the readers to move to No Dig. In all honesty, it's well documented so definitely made me think about it (and buy the No Dig book to look a bit more into it) but everything applies to traditional gardening as well.Well worth the read if you are new to composting but also very interesting if you already compost!I was hoping for Charles Dowding to go a bit more into his mixes of compost but unfortunately it's not done in this book. He's got a few videos on the subject so all good but it would have fitted nicely in there.Overall, very happy with this book. I've been composting for years but still learned a lot from this book.

Good read from the 'no dig' gardening expert.
Author is Charles Dowding who has established himself as a world wide expert on growing vegetables with a no dig gardening method. Method uses lots of compost and this book talks you through the science and practicalities of producing compost. If you are a vegetable gardener this this book is a must.

OK, but a lot of biology
We have 4 compost bins and I was hoping to learn something from this book. It's interesting but if you are new to composting and want step by step guides then you'd probably be better looking on the Internet. This book goes into the biology and science of how compost is made and why it's good for your soil, but the actual steps about composting are quite basic, with line drawings of various compost bins. I guess ypu can say "how difficult can it be?" but I thought the book was quite basic.
