Works great!
It works great depending on what you want to do. The subscription fee is a bit ridiculous but all I wanted to do was shut the obnoxious seatbelt chime on a new Toyota Tundra off after it woke my napping 2 year old up in his car seat. It’s very easy to install and use. Just buy a one month subscription for $15 and do what you need to do and then cancel the subscription.

That it definitely works and it’s worth it
Works great!! And you don’t have to keep paying the subscription after you do the changes you want to do which is awesome & when you do decide to use it again just repay the subscription use it and cancel it again the changes still stay after definitely worth it and the Bluetooth connectivity is a perfect 10 and what you see is what you get.

A fail on every level
I bought this to change some settings on my 2020 Escape. Before buying, I looked into the subscription plan that says it’s needed for multiple vehicles. Not a problem, I was only using it on one. Then I used the stupid thing. Nope, need a subscription to change any setting. I paid my $9.99 for a month and tried it out. Below are my thoughts…The settings available WILL vary from what is shone online. Even then, they don’t work properly. I could get the windows down to work with fob, but never up. It also didn’t control the sunroof as it said it would. Most settings make no sense and aren’t explained. My factory DRL settings say DRL 1 brightness is 10% while DRL brightness 2 is 100%. What do you even change with that? The live data is the worst I have even seen. Most vehicle systems only give you a few values that are worthless. My favorite is parked with the engine running, the live data said it’s commanding and making 14 PSI of boost. $9.99 a month and you couldn’t compensate for atmospheric pressure?Lastly, you must maintain your subscription to be able to continue to change settings, which is absolutely ridiculous. You charge between $70-$100 for the device (one of the most expensive on the market) then require a subscription for some pathetic live data and beta test features? Lol, absolutely not. Easiest return I’ve ever done, minus the $10 I’ll never get back, unfortunately.

Not bad, but still cool
It’s cool, but I don’t really feel it added any huge benefit. I tried this on Toyotas, Fords and a scion. Most features you want enabled are already there. The coolest thing was customizing my windows on the 4Runner to roll down when I press a button.

Follow the instructions!
The instructions work, so I highly recommend them. I purchased the Evo unit, and got a deal on the app. It worked very well with my Samsung s21 ultra in the parking lot of my place. Bluetooth was smooth and fast. I changed the battery in my VW Golf mk8, and needed to register it. It worked perfectly for that. Done in a matter of minutes. Actually saved quite a lot when compared to doing it at a dealer, and don't really trust anyone else because I don't know anyone here yet. There are already changes that I have made to my display for accessibility reasons. My vision is not that great. Changed the speedometer and some other things. It's just a fantastic little device, and it works well with the app which is I must say very good for my purpose. Others may need something more extensive, and even pay less. I got what I wanted for the money I spent, and I'm not finished enjoying it yet. Also I talked to Ali on the phone, and he was super informative and very easy to understand and so far as technical things. I am new at this, so I really liked the reassurance of knowing. I'd like to thank them for that. Five stars from me.

It's not great
It gives you some features but not enough IMO.1. You can roll the windows down with the remote but you can't roll them up?2. You can turn the seatbell alarm off on the driver side but not the passenger side where I have a 80LBS dog.3. You can shut off the beeping when you leave the fob inside the vehicle which is pointless because most people have the fob in their pocket but you can't turn off the 5 annoying beeps when the fob is outside the vehicle. So getting gas, or you warm up your vehicle in the garage and then you step outside and close the door and wake everyone in the house up.4. I could program my ford with forscan to do pretty much anything including once I step outside the vehicle with the fob, I can lock the doors and it locks the transmission level in parkFor the price, it needs to do more. Most of the options aren't something people need but shutting those beeping noises off is.

Niche Fantastic! Worked great, allowing my key fob to open Toyota Camry windows & sunroof.
28JUL24New news! This is NOT a universal scan tool. Although it worked perfectly on my Toyota, which is what I bought it for, I can't say the same for my Chrysler vehicles. Chrysler (and GM) are not listed as supported vehicles. Surprise! Just because it supports some esoteric niche need doesn't guarantee anything. Carista obviously knows this because there are many warnings asking the buyer to verify Carista will work with their vehicle. In retrospect, I could have saved a few dollars if I'd purchased the original Carista.25JUL24I have a 2024 Camry XSE and now I can open the windows and sunroof remotely with my key fob. It took about 5 minutes to complete setting up this customized feature. It was very easy. The Toyota dealer wanted $150 to do it! It cost me about $80 and I have a great OBD2 to use for my vehicle diagnostics. The Carista EVO actually outperformed the X-Tool D7 because the D7 can't perform this procedure and it costs more than $350. I know, I borrowed one from my brother and it was a waste of time. I ended up calling the people at X-Tool and they confirmed this too.
