Easy to install. Good looking. Non obtrusive. I did not use the plastic hook and adhesive supplied; it wouldn’t last. Instead, I used a 2” screw. I also figured that the unit and screw can be installed in various positions relative to each other depending on how strong a pull / tension you want.

My wife would often leave the door open when she left the bedroom, allowing smells from the rest of the house to waft into the room. This solution worked great. The sticky seems to be slowly peeling (our door is textured so it didn't get a perfect seal) despite prepping with alcohol and drying before applying. My only concern is that it might tear away from the door unexpectedly (I've had problems with these types of sticky pads in the past) so I will be installing the hook with a little super glue instead. It can be easily removed for when we want to leave the door open and has quite some zip to it if I just let it reel itself back in. The screws seem to be the perfect offset for the beams but I seem to have missed 2/4 and only got drywall on the other half yet it holds up sufficiently (added some super glue to be sure).

I use these on my patio door screen because my grandchildren go in and out all the time. They were perfect if you stack one on top of the other and use two instead of one. Otherwise it’s a little bit weak.

In the begging it went well, installing the Door closer was easy with little to no issue in the begging and functioned as advertised.Fast forward to current date 8/06, the threading or wiring has begun to come unraveled During use which has been minimal and now the wire will not go back into the base of the product without coming out with a knot at the bas of the wire tangling into a huge ball that's clogging it now making the Door closer useless. I've tried fixing it myself but the more use it has the worse the mass gets to the point of just getting stuck making the function of the Shimido none existent.

It worked great for about 2 weeks then it feel off my wall and broke on my floor it needs a stronger sticky pad if your going to use that you also have the option to screw it in but that's puts hole in your walls and I don't want to do that so I was hoping the sticky pads would work but besides that it does what it says

We used this to prevent ohr whirlpool fridge door from swinging open wildly. Apparently, whirlpool did not think through their fridge doors on our model and they really floo wide open too fast, this is an inexpensive solution that provides a gentl tug to prevent the door flying open and potentially damaging the door hinge.It comes with double sided tape that seems ok so far. Not tools required. Stick the hook on your door. Stick the unit on the wall, or in our case top of fridge. Hook the loop onto the hook and voila! No more swinging doors!

So weirdly enough, there is an unintended use case of these door closers- to support gantries for belt driven 3D printers after they've been turned off.I bought one of these in the 1000g strength as part of an Ender 3 to Voron Switchwire 3d Printer conversion. I printed out a bracket to fix this to the 2040 upright, and then secured this door stopper using the two vertical holes, 2 M4 bolts, and 2 locking M4 Nuts.Initially, I tried placing heat-set inserts into the plastic holes- both M4 and M5- but neither held reliably. The locking nylon nuts did the trick.The 1000g strength variant of this stopper perfectly supports the gantry when the printer is shut off. It also drastically reduces the amount of force required for the Z stepper to translate the gantry vertically- leading to longer stepper motor life, lower required belt tensions, and increased print speed and accuracy.

My screen door is a bit flimsy and doesn't close all the way. This definitely helped to make sure the door shuts tight. It's easy to install bit make sure to follow the direction of how far or near you put it because it depends on how fast it will recoil the door.

The indoor cat had learned to open the sliding screen door. This has enough pull/spring to it that he hasn't figured out how to get out. On one door I had to adjust where I put the hook on the door (had to move it to middle of top door rail instead of right near the spring box, to prevent rubbing on door jamb) but then it worked great. On another door I had to put a spacer block (scrap wood) behind the spring box (again to avoid rubbing on door jamb), but it's easy to rig it to fit if you're reasonably handy. I also like that it's very easy to unhook when I don't want the automatic closer attached. Very happy!
