Been using these for years. Love them!
Wife and I have been using Nuwave products since the first Nuwave oven hit the market. They make wonderful items and they do stand up to use. I will state that we have had to replace a set (hence this purchase) as we plain wore them out. I am not saying they wore out quickly. The previous set lasted many a year. We use them about daily. We don't even use our stovetop unless we need another eye and are already have these in use (holiday cooking). The ability to set the temperature and even timed cooking is great. They have safety features built in that are nice but can be a pain (lifting the pan off the cook top will send the machines into an error cycle). We take them in our teeny 13' RV. We save the propane for heat and in hotter weather, the cook tops themselves do not get hot so that portion of cooking does not add heat to the camper or it is wonderful even in full size kitchens during warmer months.A note of caution for candy makers or people that may use these making candy. You will definitely need a candy thermometer as the displayed temp it is heating to will not reflect what the actual temperature of the food is.I would recommend these to just about anyone that cooks. They do a great job. The only odd thing I really ever noticed is that they take longer to boil water. I have theories on this but will not embarrass myself guessing and placing here.

Two Different Sized coils - WOW!
I have been cooking on a flat surface glass top induction burner for at least 10 years. Still use it as with these two NuWave units I have closed off my electric stove top. I could never afford an induction free standing stove, and learned to make one, now 3 portables work well with different uses on each. The old flat top only has 9 heat settings - and regulates temperature by turning off the coil when the pot reaches its temperature, letting the pan temperature drop a number of degrees and then turning the coils bak on until hot again. The Newaves both have better, more accurate temp controls that keep the pan or wok in a much more concise range than the old unit. For woks, this is important and helps keep flat bottom woks from warping. The different size coils (6" and 8" I think) mean I can heat the whole wok evenly, always a problem on 14" woks on the earlier 6" coil. Smaller woks go on the smaller coiled unit.As with ALL induction units a ferrous pan, wok or pot MUST be used, and I have carbon steel that respondsalmost too quickly to describe. Stainless steel is not as responsive, but heats and cools more slowly and steadily - if you need more precise temperature control in the 5 or 10 degree ranges up and down these units supply. The controls are easy to get to while cooking and the only change I would make in the would be to move the pause and off button to where the more easily reached "Start" button is. Start ONLY turns the unit on where pause/stop removes power from the coil immediately, like turning off a gas flame. Safety would be the rationale for the change of button position.SO, if these stand up to doily use as long as my old unit has -- they will deserve the 5 star rating I have added.

Won't Boil Water
After 20 minutes, neither NuWave will boil water without lid, high nor sear make it boil. Remove lid and it stops.
