Having had two incidences of the freezer door being left ajar in one week, and nearly loosing the contents (not to mention the massive PITA of defrosting it all, etc, I decide to look for a freezer alarm. Its and integrated fridge/freezer, and the fridge already has this feature.. bizarre the freezer doesnt.. anyway...So, I needed a digital thermometer with an external probe (batteries dont work very well when frozen, so the electronics have to be on the outside).I read some good reviews of this item, and some bad reviews. The biggest themes were "its not accurate enough" and "I want the temperature inside my fridge, why do I have to use the OUT setting".I wasnt put off by the bad reviews for the following reasons :1. My freezer should be at -20^C, and if it is at -5^C its warming up, and thats a problem. Even if the thermometer was out by 5^C, setting an alarm at -10^C would work.. as the temperature would be between -10^c and -5^c... both of which are a problem. I dont need a precise measure of the temperature, just a warning that it is climbing.2. The thermometer is actually TWO thermometers... one is on the INSIDE of the unit, and one is OUTSIDE on the plug in probe. Most folk use these for measuring the temperature INside their house, and OUTside their house, hence the probe setting for the freezer is the OUT setting. Not too hard to comprehend.I ordered 9pm, and it arrived lunchtime the next day. Staggering, thanks Amazon!Its fairly self explanatory, pretty similar to most other battery powered gadgets.. OPen the battery door and remove the tab to activate.Plugged the probe in, there was only one place it would go on the bottom left side.. so cant really get that wrong.Ont he back is a button to flip between ^C/^F... pretty straight forward.The only bit I needed to refer to the "manual" for was setting the alarm. This could have been worded better, and a simple diagram would have helped.The basic idea is there are two modes... you're either setting a range for the alarm to trigger if it is within a range (for example, above 5^C, and below 10^C), or outside a range (for example below 5^C or above 10^C)... once that is clear, the poor description makes sense, and its pretty easy to set up.Mine was all up and running in under 10 minutes.Probably the best £12 of the year so far, as it is protecting £100's worth of food, and saving me the hassle of another defrost.The alarm is plenty loud enough too...I wouldn't hesitate to buy again, or recommend.

I use this to monitor the temperature in my Tortoise enclosure, the display is very easy to read, it gives me all the information I need at a glance, it works really well. I glued a couple of magnets onto the side of the wooden enclosure for this to attach to which makes it more accessible.

Great, inexpensive thermometer for my fridge freezer. Daughter doesn't always close it properly so wanted something to alarm as a warning.You'll need the instructions as you can set it to alarm within a range or outside a range;It's not easy to figure out without . Once set up you'll need to experiment with temperature and placement where it gives you the most consistent reading without alarming every time you open the door. Once done, it's done.No idea how accurate it is but if you need accuracy then you'll want something with a calibration certificate anyway.Happy with the purchase

I bought this digital thermometer to monitor the temperature inside my freezer to ensure it is below-20C. Could also be used in a refrigerator for the same purpose. What is also useful is the alarm in case the freezer gets too warm which I did accidentally once which prompted me to buy this device. It has a maximum and minimum so you can check the temperature fluctuations. The only improvement would be a thermometer that would send a signal to an app to inform you of a problem but that would cost much more. Overall useful and good value.

I wondered if this would work, having the lead going from outside to inside but it works perfectly. Very accurate and I have found very useful as my fridge freezer does not have an inbuilt thermometers. I use it periodically to check the internal temperatures and the rest of the time I use it as a room thermometer. Would definitely recommend

Very pleased with this, I suspected my fridge thermostat was playing up and this proved it was and to what degree.Pretty easy to use and can record the min and max temperatures and also has an alarm you can set at hot and cold trigger points.It was slightly confusing with it's inside/outside terminology if you're using it on a fridge/freezer - "inside" being the unit temperature (the room temperature) and "outside" meaning the probe which you put inside your fridge.I guess the names are more appropriate if the unit is inside and the probe is used to measure the temperature outside your house, but that's not really how the product is sold, which is as a fridge/freezer thermometer.

Facile installazione posizionare lo strumento al di fuori del freezer, frigorifero o apparecchiatura per la quale si vuole tenere sotto controlla la temperatura e mettere la sonda all'interno. Freezer inserire la sonda e posizionare su una piccola staffa lo strumento in modo da poter sempre essere a conoscenza della temperatura interna, impostare la temperatura minima al di sotto del (range in questo caso il freezer è impostato fra i -20° e -25°), quindi imposto a -19°, se la temperatura scende al di sotto della soglia minima -20°, lampeggia una luce rossa ed emette un segnale acustico. Il prodotto è semplice e non funziona WI-FI, nemmeno in altro modo digitale, ma semplicemente può essere monitorato dalla persona in prossimità dell'apparecchiatura da controllare.

Impossible de régler ce thermomètre tellement c'est compliqué, et en plus pas d'explications en français.

Ça marche pour 2 mois et demi. Maintenant, il est nul. J'ai changé la pile (LR44,) mais rien d'effet. Et plus, il n'y a pas de garantie, et c'est hors de la période du retour. Déçue.
