Marmite delivered to my door!
Marmite. Love it or hate it? As a Boomer that was raised in England, I'm definitely in the Love it camp! However, so far, I have been unable to convince any Americans how great it is, even after I describe what it tastes like beforehand. I just get twisted expressions and a tendency to spit when they try it. Nevermind, it's something you have to start when you are a child to get hooked on it, and It tastes exactly the same as it did in 1955. Anyway, I've found it's gotten harder to find in the stores I go to - I happened to see it at Amazon and I just had to have it! Its a bit pricey, but what isn't today.

Good for stews, sauces and just on bread.
I have loved Marmite for 60 years so for me it is top notch. It is expensive but it does go a long way.

Love me some umami rich Marmite!
A Scottish friend recommended Marmite, but cautioned it was an acquired taste. For me it was instantaneous. I love a slice of good bread, lightly spread with butter, and then lightly spread with Marmite. It's a perfect little breakfast. Savory rather than sweet and loaded with nutrients. I haven't tried it in cooking yet, but I hear it adds depth to stews and other dishes.

Love Marmite but hate the expiry date
I am a long time Marmite lover and usually stock up when I am back in the UK, but haven’t visited for 9 months and my stash is getting low. Decided to bite the bullet and pay the inflated price on Amazon rather than go without my Marmite fix. The price for this 250g jar was fairly reasonable ($11) in the scheme of things as my local Ralph’s charges that for a jar half the size - it would cost approximately $3 in the UK.Was pleased to see the jar arrived intact and was well packed in bubble wrap, but was a bit disappointed that the best before date is only 8 weeks away - it must be old stock as the last one I bought in the UK, 9 months ago, has a better best before date - on the plus side it means I don’t have to ration it and can even allow my partner to enjoy it too…

Only Brits would love this
My husband loves Marmite, so Iordered this jar. It arrived sooner than expected and the jar is a great size. This should last for a bit.

Delicious - coming from someone who eats Vegemite everyday
For reference, I eat 2 pieces of Vegemite toast every single day.Marmite tastes exactly the same - though with a tiny, and I mean minuscule, hint of sweet scent (only a scent too, no taste). So basically it’s delicious. However, it has the consistency of honey, which makes it somewhat of a pain to handle compared to Vegemite, as you’ll get gooey sticky strings everywhere if you’re not careful. It’s more diluted in taste, so put more onto your toast to achieve the same intensity. At the end of the day, they’re just ultra-salty spreads made from leftover beer stuff. It’s satisfying and delicious. Don’t monitor your sodium intake too much.
