Too good to be true
It is difficult to find a place to mount it so that all your devices can "see" it. Also, only some buttons are available for each remote. The button to change input was not available on my TV, for example, basically making it useless. After about 20 minutes of messing around, I decided it was easier to mess with 4 different remotes than to use this thing. It's a great idea, but doesn't quite hold water.

The obvious solution that PUCK solved. Everyone looks for remotes, but everyone knows where their phone is. Thanks to the PUCK, I'm now using my Android to control my infrared heater, my window air conditioner, my home entertainment center, and my gas fireplace. It's made my life so convenient. No more kids pressing all the many scary buttons on all the different remotes. Now there is one remote for everything, and it's always in my pocket.

10x the range is still awful
I really pity the people who bought the first iteration of this device. They advertise that v2 had 10 times the range, but it still needs to be pretty much next to the device to work. At 6ft it's okayish, at 10ft it barely works. That is if you happen to own a supported device, which my home theater unit apparently is not.Mind you that finding the devices in the app is also non trivial. You can search, but only after you select a device type. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I don't know the difference between a Home Theater System, an AV System, a Receiver, and what have you. The thing is, I also don't understand why I have to choose anything either way. The search function works fine, what's the point of having you select a device type before you can search. Now all of this would still be ok if it was possible to just add my own devices manually (e.g. by capturing the remote), but that's also not possible. Then there's no macro support either. All in all just stay away. Not worth it.

Easy setup, works great
I had version 1 of this product and this is a great upgrade. The previous version really could only operate one device -- this one has greater distance and range. I was able to successfully set up three items in my living room.More importantly for me, because of the range, I was able to place the puck on the underside of my coffee table. Clear line of sight to my TV, DVD and Cable box, but completely invisible to the room. Setup was very easy. Highly recommended.

Compatibility Issues and the Range is a Joke, just buy something better
The range on the puck is a joke. You have to have it so close to what you want to control that it is difficult to control more than one device. That's assuming you can control more than one device. I have an extremely common brand dvd player and the puck couldn't make hide or hair of it. I will give it that it did control my TV just fine. So 1/3 devices gets it 2 stars. I cannot say I would reccomned the thing to anyone. It's not a good value because you can simply get better.

Excellent solution for those who find it difficult to use a typical remote
Very inexpensive and simple solution. Extremely useful as an assistive technology device for the disabled or others that have a difficult time picking up and manipulating a traditional remote control. The Puck 2 is a great improvement on an already excellent device.

Helpful as assistive device
Helpful as assistive device since I have trouble using the Apple TV remote. It connected within seconds to my Apple TV fourth generation and the additional controls on the app make it so much easier to navigate my old TV. This is a really inexpensive way to do that.

Complete Trash - AVOID!
This is junk - connectivity is inconsistent (kind of a requirement for a remote control, don't you think?) Have these guys ever heard of QA?Further, the app itself is terrible. Who in their right mind would want to use this? No fast forward/rewind support? Really? Why are those buttons grayed out? But if you keep losing connectivity, I guess it really doesn't matter if the app is missing basic features of the remote control it aims to replace.DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE. Way too much time spent fighting with trying to keep the app connected to the device. Move on and find something that was actually tested and not rushed to market. Total fail.

A Pucking good remote control
I've been using universal remotes and bluetooth-based smart remotes at home for over a decade and the Puck absolutely nails it in terms of:* Price - allows me to buy a puck for multiple devices in multiple rooms* Connectivity - doesn't often get locked to a single phone / tablet like my other bluetooth devices* Support - all my devices worked out of the box with no stuffing around* Usability - the app on my phone looks good and works great* Battery life - it loooooongMy 2nd Puck is on the way and I'm pumped to finally have a device that ticks all my boxes. If you've used older smart hub style IR blasters (say like an Anymote) you might find the Puck has a shorter range than you're used to with these devices, but not by a whole lot and the trade-off is of course much better battery life and a much smaller unit. The price also means that you can buy a couple for the same cost as a larger / shittier unit.Big props to the team that make this. I haven't received any compensation or hand jobs in exchange for this review but hey I'm ultimately open to either, hit me up.
