Great bang for the buck collar.

So, I am of the thought that if I am too scared to use it on myself, I probably shouldn't put it on my animal. I purchased another brand of collar (Funshion) and used it on myself. I have to say that the shock actually burned my skin. The other collar had 100 adjustable levels and I went all the way up to 100. The other collar also irritated my dogs skin. This collar only has 16 levels, and it's hard to describe, but the shock has a cleaner feel. No burning sensation, just a little jolt. However this is a powerful collar. At 16 I could not handle it and actually screamed. Starting at the lowest setting I ramped it up until my dog started to react, which was a 4. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. It doesnt irritate my dogs skin and easy to use. The battery so far has lasted four days of continuous use, which is twice the battery of the other collar I purchased. I also have used the pet trainer collar and this is by far superior in build quality. 10 out of 10 would purchase again.

Simple and effective

I've been training dogs for several years. Normally I use Garmin or Dogtra collars due to the size of the dogs I work with. I was looking for a cost effective replacement for an old Garmin collar. At first looking at the price I thought, "there's no way this is going to work". I'm glad to say I was 100% wrong. I'm pleased with the quality of the device. I hate the collars with 99 levels of stimulation. That's far too many levels. This is much better. The only complaint, which is just my preference due to my background, is the remote is very light. Other than that the collar and remote are great. Highly recommend this product.

(9 months old). She is a stubborn puppy and likes to stray away and jump on people. With this product we were in control and it helped us control her jumping. She responds to the beeps and vibration very well. I only used the shock at level 6 twice. She did yelp alittle and the vibration is all that is needed now.

Thanks to PATPET ..... We no longer have a toilet paper monster!!

No More Toilet Paper Monster!!!Although we love our Marlee ......... she wasn’t always the best listener and at times got very spiteful and destructive! Our trainer recommended the PATPET, Vibration and Shock Collar with Remote for her specific, repetitive unwanted behaviors! Marlee had a thing about destroying numerous rolls of toilet paper daily! She must of thought we owned stock in Charmin! Thanks to the PATPET, her toilet paper consumption has seized and now can be trusted in our bathrooms (There are several modes & level to choose in order to correct different behaviors. We only had to use the vibration setting, at moderate level!)Today, we are very happy to report that ……..Our Marlee is enjoying the finer things in life ……… a good dog can enjoy in our home with her brother and sister!Thank you,Marlee's very happy family

Great Training Tool

The PatPet training collar has been a life saver. I'm not a young person, but I agreed to adopt an 8 week old female black lab a year ago from it's owner who decided they did not want to deal with a puppy. I should have taken the clue, but anyway, I didn't and so I named her Sam.Sam became the new family member which included me and my 6 year old brindled plot hound, Buck. Buck has always been a perfect dog. He's very obedient. He knows all the basic commands and always comes running when I call him. Buck will look at me and ask for permission before he does anything out of the ordinary. Not so with Sam....Sam was so opposite of Buck. She was like the Omen puppy. I live on a 200 plus acre farm with fields, lots of woods, a house a mile off the highway and next to a pond. I do not have a fenced yard. My dog, Buck, always stayed close to the front of the house and Sam would stay next to Buck when she was a small pup. But as she got a bit older Sam would trot outside when I opened the door and disappear just in a matter of seconds! I'd look out through the glass on the door to check on them and I'd only see Buck sitting there alone on the front porch staring up at me, but no Sam. I'd then have to go outside and to call her. She wouldn't come running. So I'd go back in, put my shoes and coat on then head back outside walking all around the house looking for her. I'd usually find Sam somewhere on the edge of the woods pulling on fallen branches to drag up in the yard or in the pond swimming around and around chasing the geese. Sometimes I'd see her far on the otherside of the hayfield with both front paws going crazy throwing dirt everywhere attempting to dig up a mole. So I'd walk towards her calling her name and telling her to come. She wouldn't pay a bit of attention to me. Sam just didn't care. But I did. We have coyotes where I live. I hear them howling at night and I've seen them close by my place day and night. I just couldn't imagine the thought of something happening to Sam. I had to do something soon, but I definately was not going to put a containment fence up around the house to throw the dogs in.I've used training collars before, but it's been awhile so I was not familiar with what was on the market these days. I did know I wasn't going to spend $200.00 or more for one. So I browsed around Amazon doing my research and ran across the PatPet training collar system. What I liked when reading about the PatPet:The collar is waterproof. (pond). The construction of the collar. The distance (1000 ft. Enough for me).The charging (no batteries to replace). The 3 modes (beep, vibrate and shock). The remote sleep mode. The variable levels of the shock mode. The batteries stay charged for days. The ability to operate a second collar with the same remote. And yes, the price....What I read looked good so I decided to order the PatPet system and give it a try.Being familiar with the do's and don'ts of training collars from the past I still wanted to be sure I knew how to operate the PatPet system before I placed it around Sam's neck. I needed to make sure I knew how to turn things on and off and also what each individual button did. After charging the collar and remote I first wanted to introduce it to Sam. I had Sam sit and held the collar in front of her letting her get a good look at it. I then activated the beep mode with the remote and then the vibrate mode. It was something new and it scared Sam a little, but at least she had some idea what was being placed around her neck.Just a few (of my) thoughts about how I use a dog training collar system:*I never use the collar to abuse the dog out of frustration.*I always give a verbal command to come at least two or three times before triggering the remote.*If unsuccessful at first then I will trigger the beep again and give the come command.*I move up from there to the vibrate then to the *shock if needed. I never try to use the shock unless neccessary and I always make sure it's my last choice. (beep first, if needed, then viberate, then last, the shock only if needed) The dog definitely should know what the shock feels like, but I always try to consider it as the last resort.*The dog will quickly learn the order of the 3 signals and will realized if they don't obey at first then they will know what to expect next.*Always give praise. (Very, very important when they achieve each given command)Sam does not disappear into the woods anymore and she doesn't jump in the pond to chase geese. She stays pretty close to the house usually laying right next to Buck in the front yard or on the porch, but always within my eye sight. She has done very well. I will continue to put the collar on her whenever I let them out and she knows that she is on notice when I do.I've also used the collar to stop Sam from digging holes and destroying all her toys. She has learned that a stern "no" along with a signal from my remote to her collar really means "no".The goal is to eventually be able to control Sam with only verbal commands. It might take some time, but with patience, consistency and along with the help of the PatPet system she'll soon get there. The training collar is definately a very helpful teaching tool. I've not had any problems with my PatPet device andit works well. I certainly recommend this system if you need any obedience help with your dog. You will not regret it.
