Description

Digitally remastered edition of this 2006 album. Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice are one of the greatest rhythm sections in rock music history, they helped to put Vanilla Fudge and countless other bands on the map. All original members, Bogert, Appice, and guitarist Jim McCarty, reunited in 2006 with lead vocalist Jimmy Runes (Savoy Brown), who is a perfect fit for their blues rock to burn down the house with. The line-up featured on this reissue is a hot nasty blues metal machine.

Tell Brother Bill, the boys are back

This album smokes! Have see the band kick at BB Kings and it is such a pleasure to hear good ole Hard Blues Rock by the masters.Jim, Tim, Carmine and new kid Jimmy Kunes are a breath of fresh air in the barren world of Rock these days. What are you waiting for, get this album.

Flat-Out Rock & Roll

There needs to be more of this type of rock today!! The band didn't sell us short by putting 14 tracks on the record. Part of the Game & Blues for Mr. Day are tunes with a really good groove. Doin' Time & Day For Night are really well written. My favorite tune on the album is Muscle & Soul... but Cactus Music isn't far behind. You won't be disappointed with any of the songs on this.

Cactus is Back

I always wondered what Cactus would be like if they reformed and now I know excellent. Sorry Dusty but the more I listen to this CD the more I like it. Turn it up and enjoy this 70's Rock at it's best. Jim's guitar is better and stronger and Tim Bogart's Bass and Carmine Appice's Drums just scream along. WE CAN ONLY HOPE THEY TOUR and SOON.

COULD BE THE EARLY SEVENTIES

Well they were compared, but were way superior to Led Zeppelin (i always found Robert Plants posturing irritating in the extreme) and after the awful half live/half studio 'hot and nasty' (which wasn't really cactus different singer/guitarist) they are back minus Rusty Day (an absence that is at times glaring especially in the embarassing lyrics from the pen of the new guy) It really is better than what i expected for two reasons the supremely underatted Jim McCarty is absolutely astounding (pity some of the solo's fade out) and Tim Bogart plays it straight, keeping away from those irritating bass runs which ruined some great McCarty solo's. Appice drums like his life depends on it and the new guy fits in well (apart from the afformention lyrics) It really could be 1970 where bands had hair, didn't care about there appearance and that awful Eddie Van Halen sound wasn't even thought of.
