This thing picks stuff UP!
The Black & Decker Furbuster works very well. Strong suction, and the beater attachment just grabs the heck outa fur and dust. My dog’s hair is short - great for not leaving drifts, but often hard to dislodge from fabric or carpet. The B&D works admirably well. The beater bar has rubber ridges, not brushes, and that seems to be the trick. I worried that it might tear stuff up, but it has not. It’s also been great for getting into small dusty spaces that block my big vac. The charge lasts a good long time.

Awesome! Nice power and SO easy to clean
Awesome! Nice power and SO easy to clean!Charging takes a bit, but this little thing has strong suction, perfect for vacuuming carpeted stairs. It is so simple to clean the filter: just pull it out and you can wash it in the sink. I love that the roller brush is made of rubber vs. fine synthetic bristles -- this makes it so much easier to clean out hair, dust, etc. from the brush. (Ideal for me, since my long hair nests everywhere and piles up quickly in vacuums lol). It's my perspective that this vacuum works much better on carpets, floors, and rugs compared with the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. That said, I'm finding that the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser does a much better job on upholstery and blankets. Overall, I love it!

Good power, but lacking some things
For the complaints:1. When using the pet attachment if you push it away from you it's great. Picks up my dog's needle-like fur with ease. If you pull it towards you while vacuuming it has a tendency to detach and lose suction. I think this is a design flaw with the extension partially coming out.2. I did read another person having issues and I also experienced the filter housing detaching each time you empty the bin. I need to use my hands to grab the fur/dust from the filter housing. Not a huge deal, but it should be noted.3. No wall attachment offered of any kind. It's kind of annoying that it needs to be resting on a flat surface of some kind and I wish I could easily mount I on the wall. Oh, well. The pros are that it has a couple power options and it does a great job vacuuming up dirt/dust and fur. It's not too heavy and I can easily task my 8 year-old to clean up small messes in the house. Battery life seems great in the lower power setting, but I think of I were to use the higher power setting it wouldn't last 20 minutes or so.I'll come back and edit this if my opinion changes as this is only my initial impressions.

Pleased with this vacuum after 6 months
I've had this vacuum for 6 months and I am pleased. This vacuum has good power, it even picks up cats litter that my upright has trouble with. The filters are easy to clean and it charges quickly. It will last a good 30+ minutes on normal speed and 15+ on high. Also, it does a great job on cat hair which is the main reason I purchased it. Some of the low ratings I see here are for very minor items. Must have the sleeve pushed in to have rotator bar work, Filter comes out when you empty dust collector (this has only happened to me when I tap the side of vacuum-my solution pick it up and put it back in), vacuum cycles to high speed when shutting vacuum off (this may last for 1 second) these are really very minor issues. Its price point is high , currently at $90+ dollars. I got mine on a special at $68, and it is a good value at that price.

Designed by someone who has given up on their job, or quite possibly, life itself
I'm a single guy who lives alone, so I really don't make much of a mess other than some crumbs and dirt that I track inside. The two miniature panthers I live with; however, are disgusting heathens who leave hair, more hair, and even more hair all over the place. I was looking for something that would allow me to take care of quick messes instead of breaking out the evil vacuum that gives the panthers night terrors: my pizza crumbs, or perhaps a glob of hair that one certain panther likes to leave behind every so often. So I thought I did some good research and found the right dust buster for me. I read tons of reviews, both good and bad, checked out the specs, and even looked at what spare parts are available since it could be a sign of what breaks most often. Boom. Sold. It arrived today, and my initial impression was: "meh". After a few hours to get it charged up, I took it for a test spin on hardwood floors, a countertop, some carpet, and a couch cushion. The second most annoying thing about this dust buster (I'll get the most annoying in moment) is that you have to cycle through both the low and high speeds to turn it off, and there seems to be a small delay in transitioning between the speeds and turning off. In other words, you can't just press the power button twice very quickly. You have to press it once, let it cycle into what sounds like a launch of some sort of space rocket, and then press again a second or two later to get it to turn off. This drove me nuts. The suction was OK on the hard surfaces, but it sucked - or rather didn't suck so well on carpeting and the fabric cushion. The most annoying thing about this is that the pre-filter and filter (they're connected) fall out when you go to empty the thing. The instructions and common sense state to hold it over a trash bin, press the release button on the canister, and lightly shake to get the debris out. This happens before the light shaking even begins. After a bit of detective work, I was able to determine that this is caused by the pre-filter. It's simply too heavy to allow the filter to remain attached. Aside from being the thing that will make you go fishing through whatever you just sucked up to retrieve it, the pre-filter does a great job of caking and compacting dust that will surely burn up the motor sooner rather than later.Third most annoying thing (only going to list three, but I could go on) is that there is no place to mount it, the charger is awkwardly designed - don't break or lose it (and is white?), and it just doesn't fit anywhere. It's not some sort of showpiece I want out on display for all to see, but who has electrical outlets in their hallway closet to charge something like this? You'll be stuck with this sitting out in a room, which isn't so bad when it's brand new out of the box, but disgusting after one use.I know some people seem to love this thing, but some people also take a lot of medication. Maybe there is a correlation there, maybe there isn't. My advice is to stay away from it. Far away.
